Jesus Loves Me~

It’s funny how you can do the same routine over and over and them one day - BAM! God shows you something that you hadn’t seen before. Had something happen the other day that I wanted to share with you. It’s just taken me a couple of days to piece it together without taking up ALL the BB. :)

I have two little ones that I baby sit from time to time. Very easy kids to watch and I love the time with them. Well on this particular night the youngest one was not feeling really good. He was very fussy and there was nothing anyone could do to make it better.

I went ahead and went into the bedroom where it was fairly dark and very quiet - then began to walk with him singing to him as I did so. Now I have the same list of songs that I go through when I sing them to sleep - always start with Jesus Loves Me and end with it.

I love the song - so simple yet so profound.

But you know how little ones are - He fought me something fierce. He did everything to keep from putting his head down. There was no way he was going to go to sleep no matter what I did! As I stood there trying to comfort him and assure him that it would be okay the thought occurred to me - Is this what we do with God?

As I started to sing “Jesus loves me” for the last time it hit me like a ton of bricks! All God wants us to do is to come and find rest~ He is waiting and ready to give us all that we need. But what do we do?? We fight Him - We push against Him - We resist resting in His arms. And just like this little one - once we stop fighting we find sweet rest - His perfect love - His arms holding us ever so tightly~

“Jesus loves me this I know - for the bible tells me so. Little ones to Him belong - they are weak but He is strong! Yes Jesus loves me! Yes Jesus loves me! Yes Jesus loves me! The Bible tells me so.”

Amazing isn’t He~ Well if you’ll excuse me I have a Father waiting for me.

Oh yeah ....

The little one settled down before I could finish the last phrase. Guess he found rest as well~
