Amazing Love

Well once again the sun streamed through the window except this time it won! Decided that I would lie down for just a few minutes. A few minutes turned into just over an hour. AND the work is still here! You would think the maid would have come and finished it for me while I was sleeping~

Anyway - as I sit here trying to wake up my heart seems to be on many things tonight. But the one I wanted to share with you won’t be anything new to most of you. It was just a good reminder and I felt I should pass on.

Come and sit here for a minute - please - I want to show you what I’ve been reading today. You’ll be surprised! I have been reading the book of Leviticus. I know - I heard that groan~ For those who are not familiar with it - Leviticus is the book of the law. It is all the instructions God gave Moses on the sacrifices - when, where, how and who.

As I have been trying to wade through it I had to stop and tell God thank you. Thankful that He willingly sent His Son to be THE sacrifice. You and I do not have to go through the ceremonies that the Israelite's did. I challenge you to read through it and look for yourself. I mean look real close. How often would we sin if we had to kill an animal to atone for it?

There is a praise chorus that comes to mind - one that brings me to tears every time I hear it. “I’m forgiven because You were forsaken. I’m accepted You were condemned. I’m alive and well, You Spirit lives with in because You died and rose again. Amazing love - how can it be - that YOU my king would die for me! Amazing love I know it’s true - it’s my joy to honor You. In all I do - I honor You.”

Amazing love ... How can it possibly be that He would choose to come and die for me! It is through His death and His resurrection that we become clean and forgiven. That alone should cause us to want to serve Him and honor Him with everything we have.

If that doesn’t cause you to have a heart filled with gratitude then read the book of Leviticus~ It will show what was required by law. Don’t know about you but I would much rather have His blood stained hands around me then my blood stained hands trying to reach Him. I would never be able to reach Him. It was His love for you and me that caused Him to come so that we could have fellowship with Him. Truly amazing~

I have to go back to my reading now but Feel free to stay longer~ enjoy His company - He enjoys yours~
