Two Are Better Than One

Good evening to all of you. I pray that this evening finds you discovering new things about God. I trust that you are finding Him sufficient for all your needs.

As I sit here tonight my heart is being pulled in many different directions. I have some very dear friends all going through some very rough waters. Each one different in its content yet all requiring Trust of their Father in every aspect of their lives. Some are facing things that are familiar ~ been there and walked a similar road. Some are facing things that are very unfamiliar ~ can’t imagine being in their shoes.

It is hard at times to sit back and watch those around you struggle ~ to watch them go through the pain of it all. Being the person that I am I want to fix it and make it better! I want to take the hurt and the pain away so that they don’t have to go through it. My heart aches because their heart breaks.

But the verse that keeps coming to mind is Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 “Two are better then one - they have a greater return for their labor. For if either of them falls the other is there to lift them up. How sad for the one who falls and no one is there to pick them up. Furthermore, if two lie down together they keep warm - hard to stay warm alone. And if one can overpower him who is alone - two can resist him. A three stranded cord is not easily broken.”

God never intended for us to walk this road alone. He gave us each other to come alongside to support, pray, to lend a hand and many other things. We all have people in our circles who are struggling~ who are feeling as if their world has been ripped apart~ who question the God that they love.

Do you know who those people are? The person sitting next to you in church - Do you know why they have tears in their eyes? The person sitting across from at the table - Do you know why they have sadness in their eyes? Many people all around us are waiting for someone to come alongside and walk with them, pray with them, encourage them, to be a friend.

As I pray for those God has put in my path I realize that it’s not my job to fix it - that is His job and He is so much better at it then I am! Trust me! My job (which I do gladly) is to come alongside and walk with them, support them, pray for them and help them see the God who loves far more than I ever could.

I think if it’s all right with you I need to go spend some time with Dad and tell Him about some friends of mine - His children~ can’t wait to see what He does for them.
