You know I really need to stop sitting in front of this window! Having an extremely hard time keeping my eyes open. Been a long day ~ apparently it’s been a long week. I pray this finds you a little rested and ready for the Lord ’s Day.
I was kind of hoping you would come with me today over to the
most beautiful place on this earth. I am convinced it is heaven on earth. So if
you would come over here and sit down. Right here next to me and let me
describe to you what is sitting before us.
Close your eyes and you will hear the sound of the water
rushing down the Virgin River. There is such a peaceful feeling as you listen
to the water rush by.
Now open your eyes!
As you open your eyes and follow the landscape your eyes are
drawn immediately to the rock formation in front of you.
The sun is sitting in just the right spot so it is
illuminating the formation in front of you and it takes your breath away!
With the sun hitting it you see reds and pinks brilliantly
mixing together.
There are manzanita bushes that sit against it with their deep
red branches and the green leaves. The green is so striking against the red of
the rock.
As you face this spot you notice that the rock seems to be
watching over those around it. There is a feeling of safety and protection yet
a sense of awesome power as you take in the beauty of what sits before you.
Wow! What a great God we have who gives us His creation to
remind us of His power and His protection. And to think that even in the beauty
of what sits before us it is imperfect!
Can you imagine what it would look like in its perfect state??
Would you stay awhile? Sit and take in His presence and His
love for you. Watch and see what He shows you of Himself as you spend time
resting in His presence.
OH by the way? The name of that formation? It’s called “The
Watchman” ... seems fitting that we are sitting under the watchful eye of the
watchman. And what caught our attention was the beauty and the majesty of what
we saw - not what we wanted it to do for us.
Enjoy the visit
